Ever wonder what that strange-looking rock sitting on your bookshelf is? Well, now you can find out once and for all!

The Wayne National Forest and Ohio University’s Departments of Anthropology and Geological Sciences are hosting the annual “Artifact Identification Day” on Saturday, October 28, 2017, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The public is invited to bring artifacts and fossils to the Wayne National Forest Headquarters on U.S. Route 33, located between The Plains and Nelsonville, Ohio. A team of professional archaeologists and paleontologists will be available to help identify items. The event is free to the public.
